Curbside pickup of recyclables is provided biweekly, the same day as regular trash collection. Pick up a recycling bin at the Citizens Service Center in the City Building.
Plastics - soda/water bottles, milk jugs, detergent and shampoo bottles
Paper - newspapers (with glossy inserts), magazines, phone books.
Glass jars and bottles (all colors).
Aluminum, steel, and bi-metal cans - food and beverage cans.
Community Recycling Incentive
Citizens recycling bottles, cans, newspapers and other items not only keep the landfills small but help earn money for the City which can then be used to improve city services. The Butler County Solid Waste Management District pays communities for their efforts to increase curbside recycling activities to prolong the life of area landfills. The new payment scale increases the funds paid to communities as the tonnage of materials recycled increases. So, the more Middletown recycles, the more is earned.
