The Community & Economic Development Department of the City of Middletown is making available Requests for Funding Applications for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for program year 2026-27. Applications are available on the city’s website at http://cityofmiddletown.org, by requesting an application via email at cdbg@communitydevelopmentprofessionals.com or requesting a copy in person at CED, One Donham Plaza, Middletown, OH 40542. Proposals are due on or before 4pm on January 23, 2026.
CDBG is a federal funding source used to support community initiatives that meet the City’s Consolidated Plan priorities and benefit the community, primarily low to moderate-income residents. The City offers opportunity through a competitive process to nonprofits to partner with the City to achieve the outcomes included in its five-year Consolidated Plan. A technical assistance/public meeting will be held via Zoom on Monday, December 15 at 3pm to review the current year’s funding application and answer any questions. The Zoom meeting can be accessed at https://us06web.zoom.us/j/81577379822?pwd=rWVvTOJ5J1KzE7sY4L5964ESJge99l.1 Attendance at this meeting is voluntary and is not required to submit an application for funding. The proposed budget estimated for CDBG for PY26 is $695,797. The objectives of CDBG program include the revitalization, preservation, conservation and redevelopment of neighborhoods, stimulating economic development; and providing public improvements projects and other eligible activities, some of which are carried out by subrecipients. Interested nonprofits are invited to submit a proposal for consideration. Submission requirements and details are included in the application packet.
