In September 2016, the State of Ohio legalized medical marijuana as a part of House Bill 523. Currently the City of Middletown has a moratorium that prohibits the cultivation, processing, or retail dispensing of medical marijuana within the municipal limits (Ordinance No. O2017-07 and Chapter 624.026 of the Middletown Codified Ordinances).
The City is considering repealing the ban and allowing for certain types of medical marijuana establishments. Before draft regulations are prepared, the City Council would like input on a proposed framework for regulating establishments that produce, sell, manufacture, package, deliver, or analyze cannabis/marijuana.
