Community Involvement

Steering Committees 

The committees were chosen to represented a cross-section of the community and will be actively involved with shaping and reviewing the Parks Master Plan at each stage of its development. All committees will guide the development and redevelopment of the park system to be well-loved and well-used by the community, partnering with each other to help spread the word about the project.

Technical Advisory Committee

The Technical Advisory Committee consists of staff, the City of Middletown's Park Board, and City Council liaisons. Committee participation includes a preference survey, assistance with distribution of the survey to their network and reviewing, providing feedback on information that is sent from the project team, and attending 3 to 4 meetings.

Community Advisory Committee

The Community Advisory Committee consists of several public and government organizations, such as Keep Middletown Beautiful and Metro Parks of Butler County, and a number of active religious communities and local businesses. Committee participation includes a preference survey, assistance with distribution of the survey to their network and reviewing, providing feedback on information that is sent from the project team, and attending 3 to 4 meetings.

Focus Group Committee

The Focus Group Committee consists of local recreational and special interest user-groups that are active in the City, along with a number of local businesses and organizations that have unique ties to the City's park system. Committee participation includes a preference survey, assistance with distribution of the survey to their network and reviewing, providing feedback on information that is sent from the project team, and attending 1 to 2 meetings.

Public Forum

A Master Plan forum, open to the public, will be held on DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED, at the City Building and through a virtual platform.
