The City of Middletown and Greentree Health Science Academy were honored at the Ohio City/County Management Association’s Winter conference recently in Columbus for their efforts in promoting excellence in local government. The Intergovernmental Cooperation recognition was given for the Greentree Health Science Academy partnership of the city along with Atrium Medical Center, the Warren County Career Center, Warren County Port Authority, Miami University, and Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. A formal presentaion will take place at the March 19th City Council meeting in Council Chambers on the Lower Level of the City Building at 5:30 pm.
At Greentree, students can complete coursework ranging from high school curriculum to undergraduate instruction that primes them to meet the demands of current healthcare sector employers. Greentree has helped ensure the stability of an important local employer and medical facility by equipping a trained workforce prepared for jobs in demand that provide vital medical and emergency services.
The OCMA Annual Awards for 2013 honor local government programs and leaders that demonstrate the best in leadership and practice. The program also seeks to increase public awareness of the value of professional local government management, recognizing the outstanding work performed by elected officials, appointed managers, local government staff, and citizens who work together to address the most pressing issues facing today’s communities.
