Health and Vital Statistics > Environmental Health

Maintaining the excellent health of our citizenry is the number one goal of the Middletown City Health District. In an effort for us to reach our goals, the state has issued some guidelines.

State law, through the Ohio Department of Health, mandates many of the programs enforced by our staff. These programs, which include; food service operations, pool and spa program, and manufactured home parks, require a cost methodology be performed annually to justify the license fees charged. The revenues generated by the license fees cannot exceed program costs. Utilizing this methodology, all environmental health programs are reviewed annually to determine the costs to the department of each program.

Other programs include public health nuisance abatement, school sanitation, residential onsite water and wastewater, tattoo establishments, rabies control, food establishments and campgrounds.
