About Our Parks and Recreation System

Middletown's park holdings consist of 28 developed parks, 5 undeveloped parks, and two parks that are leased to other agencies. Middletown has 346 acres of park land with 297 acres being developed. Weatherwax Golf Course contains an additional 393 acres.

Our developed parks feature the following:

  • Playground equipment at all parks
  • A nature interpretive area
  • Picnic shelters
  • 1 stocked fishing pond
  • 1 public golf course
  • A Community Center
  • 2 softball complexes
  • 1 baseball, football, and soccer complex
  • 1 skatepark
  • 2 double sand volleyball courts
  • 22 basketball courts with lighting provided on 5 courts
  • 18 tennis courts with lighting provided on 10 courts
  • A fitness trail system
  • A Locktender's Museum
  • A scenic overlook.
